Cedar, a Mediterranean species for tomorrow's architecture

Publication date: 21.05.2025

Resilient in the face of climate change, Atlas cedar is establishing itself as a building resource of the future. This species, which comes from Mediterranean forests, combines remarkable technical qualities with unique aesthetics. The exhibition offers an immersion in the material, revealing wood in all its sensory dimension.

At the heart of the exhibition, a totem made from planks of Cedar invites visitors to discover the texture and nuanced colours of the wood. The light plays with the material, highlighting the diversity of the natural patterns. The characteristic scent of cedar, both gentle and powerful, accompanies the experience, transporting visitors to the Mediterranean forests where this precious wood originates.

The exhibition also presents the many technical advantages of cedar for construction: its natural durability, its reaction to fire, its structural qualities...

The exhibition invites visitors to think about more sustainable architecture, rooted in the local environment, in a world undergoing ecological transition. It's an invitation to imagine buildings in which wood, and cedar in particular, becomes a pillar of tomorrow's architecture: sensitive, respectful of its environment and capable of transforming space with an authentic, timeless aesthetic.
